Around 10 am Kimberly, our cruise director did live commentary as we sailed in. It was lovely as she pointed out landmarks as well.
As soon as we dock, throngs of people fill the Atrium eager to get off. Holland America put up those ropes so lines could form. But even still people congregated, blocking areas.
We went out onto the promenade and enjoyed the scenery.
Around noon we head ashore and joined the queue for the free shuttle to town. Again waiting an hour to get off meant no long queue. A shuttle was there within a few minutes.
Once we arrived at the city stop located at the Harpa Concert Hall it was easy to explore the city.
Up along Pride Street.
Stopped into a few shops, but omg with the exchange rate we just couldn't afford or justify it.
We make our way up to the Lutheran Church. It is open, and free, but you could pay a small amount to go to the top of the bell tower, we did not.
Again, today we stop by the hot dog stand and get 2 dogs. We met a cute couple, he is from Australia and she is from the US and they are in love. She is hoping to immigrate to Australia to be with him. Ahhh beautiful.
We walk around for about two more hours and then make our way back to the shuttle stop.
Back on board we rest for a bit before heading upstairs for a meal at the buffet.
I do enjoy the food, heck there is always something to eat. But sadly I find the food choices don't really change. The same barley salad I loved 3 days ago has been served every day, lunch and dinner. Minimal choices in entrees and no Asian food at dinner. I won't starve but I would get bored very quickly on a longer trip. Much prefer Princess buffets for selection especially the Royal class ships.
There are really no activities tonight. Just music and so we head back to the cabin to watch a movie around 8 pm.
