Dominica

Today we dock in Dominica.  However this island still has rules.  You must wear a mask, you must take a ship's tour, or take an authorized tour at the pier.  Taxi tours at the pier are allowed.

If you aren't on any of these you can only stay on the dock and visit a few shops that locals have set up.  Outlined below.

We aren't in any rush to get off.  We rake our time getting ready.

Today is also crew drill.  And the ship feels full.  Not many have gotten off.  So having a drill today was probably not the best day since services are limited when drill happens.  It's like holding a drill when we are at sea because that is what today feels like.

We do go off for a shirt while.  You must sanitize your hands, you must wear a mask, and there is a temperature check.  Some were annoyed by this but this is what they need to do to keep their island safe.

Now would I have preferred to go elsewhere, sure, but I also will go with the flow.

We did buy a few trinkets and after a half hour we were back on board.
Bernie gets his gelato with a shot of espresso.  Yummy.

I wander and take some pics, do some reading.  I find the Take 5 bar on deck 6 to be a nice spot during the day for reading.

We shower and get ready for the evening.  We are meeting a friend at 5 for drinks.

Vista Lounge

Around 7 we head to Salty Dog for dinner.  The venue is very nice, and we have a lovely table by a big window.  But I do miss Vines, which is usually in this spot.

I start with the lobster Mac and cheese.  Very rich but yummy and big chunks of lobster.   Bernie got the tomato soup with grill cheese.

I then had the Ernesto Burger, which is way better than the one you get up on deck.  But I couldn't finish it.  Bernie had the calamari.

For dessert I had the donuts and coffee mousse.  Bernie had the lemon dessert.

Meal is $18 a person, and quite good.

We head to the Crown Grill Bar to watch Trevor play and enjoy a final cocktail.

We then decided to try the casino again.   Also to ask if there will be a non smoking night.  The manager said sadly no.  He agreed it was bad the smoke and the crew were really suffering.  I mentioned that front desk needs to be told there are no non smoking nights as they believe there are.

We decide to both cash out our casino accounts.

I do reopen the chat account message from earlier to let them know there are no non smoking nights.  They inform me there is a non smoking section.

Oh well.

Another amazing day and night.
