Takes us just over 3 hours to get to Fort Lauderdale via the Florida turnpike.
We pre booked parking at Patk and Go. Many of my friends recommended them highly. The price was excellent it you pay in advance. When we arrived they helped usunload our bags and we were on the shuttle and on our way within a few minutes.
A short ride to the pier and again he removed our bags and we were in the terminal rather quickly. Time was around 1245, but truly I didn't look at my watch, I was just so excited.
We made it thru security, checked in, by showing vaccine proof, negative covid tests, and passports. We then were given our medallions, as they don't ship to Canada. Then we are on the ship! I thought the process was very smooth, but there were some crowded areas where some people weren't sure where to go and this certainly meant social distancing was not possible; however everyone had masks. In all it probably took about a half hour, which is very good, but I do believe we arrived at a busy time.
Our embarkation time was 1130 to 1200, but no ever checked.
Cabins were available and we dropped our carry on items. Then we went to get some lunch.
Omg the Piazza is crazy! You know the first day craziness. Most have drink packages so drink orders and bars are busy. We picked up a sandwich and ordered drinks. Drinks came about 15 min after we finished our meal. But we understand. But they really need more bar staff.
We explore the ship and really like the differences to this ship. Like Princess Live and the Crown Grill Bar.
We still haven't gotten our luggage and it is sailaway so we head up to enjoy the beautiful day.
Sadly there was some issues with the audio in the screen so it took a bit longer but it was still great.
Back to the cabin at 530 and our bags finally arrived so we unpack. These inside sideways have tons of storage. Actually so much storage that we have empty drawers and shelves. We find this cabin has more storage than a deluxe balcony for sure.
Mini bar is here. Oh and check out the upgraded toiletries. Sadly elite perks have been getting chipped away more and more. Although the toiletries are not a big thing, they would of been better off just not providing them. Princess has dropped loyalty credit (we use to get $100), free internet package (as we don't always get Princess plus). We are disappointed but we will survive. Also now that we have tried Celebrity we are thinking of sailing some with them too.
No gin, replaced with rum.
And boy is it ever quiet.
I will add although our room was clean the steward had obviously not checked cabinets and drawers. A few items were left behind. A shopping bag, some wine glasses were in the cabinet, scotch tape in a drawer. Note we did bring our own sanitizing wipes and cleaned all the surfaces.
