We start our evening in VISTA Lounge for the Platinum Elite cocktail hour. Mhere it is 430 to 630. I sure love this new layout for the Vista. Way more open, flow is great and a great bar. Obviously it can not hold as many as on other Royal class ships as there are not long bench seats, but it works.
We check out the shops on board. I definitely think there is less merchandise on these ships (at least the Enchanted and Majestic), not sure if I am the only one. What do you think. However I think the shops look stunning.
We gave a dinner reservation for 740 in Capri and since we still have about 40 min we head to Crooners for a drink. Definitely drinking more with this drink package.
Again the layout here is new. I really enjoy it, however you can not see the piano player as well as we did on Royal and Regal where the piano was more center stage.
We chat with a couple who we met on the shuttle from the parking. They are also one of the most travelled and we both agree we have sailed together in the past.
Dinner, we'll I am going to try and be diplomatic. It starts with the hostess asking if we want to share a table. We said no, as we purposely reserved a private table and selected a later time to ensure we had a private table. She sits us right along the path where everyone walks by. Again with covid and most not wearing a mask this makes me uneasy, but I don't say anything.
Donna our server is busy. You knwwhen your server feels rushed, that is what we noticed.
We had a lovely starter of empanadas and then a beet and blueberry soup. We were smart and got wine before coming into the dining room as I doubt we would of gotten wine quickly. Note the ordering thru the app is not an option, here is where I miss the sommelier and bar servers on celebrity in the dining room.
We then wait and wait for our dinner. We ask for another roll, and a glass of ice. We got neither.
20 min after our soup we got out entree. Beef stogonouff which was flavourful but the meat was not like it usually is, fall apart. This one was tough. Not once were we asked how our dinner was.
We finish and sit with our empty plates for over 10 minutes. Finally we just got up and left.
Now this is not acceptable. I don't blame the server. They are under staffed. Period! This is not new to Princess, personally I find it is hot or miss in the dining room. Again I am concerned how a new princess cruiser will see this, and would they book again.
After dinner we go for a cocktail and get our Sicilian Kiss! It is our dessert, and thanks again to the drink package. Loving seeing all our bar staff from previous cruises, shout out to you Farrell!
Tonight's production show is 5 skies. A new show and we are so excited to see it. Boy it does not disappoint. A bit different but so current and hip. I would recommend sitting a bit further back and in the middle to get the most of it and all it offers.
So guess where we are off to now. Yup to Crooners to get a Bugsy martinis that we take back to the cabin as a nightcap. Love that drink package. We are also making sure to drink a lot of water top.
Today I had 7 alcohol drinks! And that includes the 2 on Princess Cays. Not sure how someone could possibly drink the maximum allowed.
Again we crash and sleep like babies.
