Day 22 - Traveling to Sault Ste Marie

Alarm goes off at 5:30!  Yes I said 5:30.  We are on the road at 6:30.

Today is another long day of driving.

The roads are single lane and the speed limit is only 90km!  There are quite a few passing lanes.  Also the traffic is light as it is only the beginning of June.  I would hate to be driving this during the summer!

One thing we spot is a few cars that are from British Columbia!  First time we have seen someone from home since leaving Calgary!  We wave as we pass.  It is a surprising bond we have just because we are from the same province.

Another thing is whenever we stop now people are always asking "where are you from" "where are you going" and you learn a little bit about everyone else on the road.

One thing slowing us down is that there is a lot of road work.  Today we experienced the longest delays because of road work.

We stop in White River.  Why you might ask?  Well that is because this is where Winnie the Pooh is from.

Then our next stop is at Wawa, Ontario for lunch and hey the giant Goose!  But they have a few large geese.  But the big one is at the Visitor Center.

it was freezing and raining

We pull into Sault Ste. Marie around 3:30 pm.

For the next couple of nights we are staying at my friend Elaine Mallory and her husband Bill's home.

Originally we had no idea when exactly we would be here but when we touched based with them a few days ago with the exact dates sadly they were going to be away for work. But they offered us their home to stay in while we are here.

Wow isn't that nice.

They have a lovely home that has all the added touches of a home and not a b and b.

Look what is greeting us on our bed when we arrived - two fish trying to swim up stream!

We head out and get some groceries nearby and later make a lovely stir fry dinner.  With wine of course.
