Itinerary Change

Tonight we head up to Skywalkers to enjoy a drink at the Platinum Elite Lounge.  This is the first time we have been up here this cruise.  It is rather busy but with the added half hour (4:30 to 7:00) helps keep the crowds flowing.  Sometimes there was few spots to sit, but there always seemed to be people coming and going.

While enjoying time with our friends Barb and Craig and a few Floridoras (note we had to pay tax as we were still anchored off Bar Harbor) the Captain came on the speaker with an important announcement.  You always know it is something big when this happens and it is his second one this voyage.

Apparently there is bad weather that could affect our travel to Rhode Island.  For the safety of the ship and the comfort of the passengers the powers that be have decided that it would be better for us to take shelter and overnight in Boston tomorrow.  Note the Captain is not the only person who makes this decision - the bridge staff and head office all have input, and I have to respect that.

So we will arrive in Boston tomorrow morning as scheduled and we will be there overnight.  We will depart Friday and skip Rhode Island and sail as schedule to New York for Saturday.  I am not sure what time all aboard is quite yet for Boston but the Captain promises to update us when needed.

We are dining at our table tonight and our waiters are happy to see us.  Again the food was very good and service was back to top notch.  Sadly again there was no sign of a head waiter/supervisor coming around to say hi and how are things.  Normally we tip the supervisor but obviously that is unlikely this time as I don't even know who that would be.

There is a One Hits Wonder trivia happening in Explorers (it is packed) and we just catch the back half of it.

We meander to the Princess theater where Nathaan Phan is performing Comedy Singing Magic - he is multi talented.  This show is a little dry compared to the last one although we love his singing and his magic is phenomenal this show seems to be a lot slower moving compared to the other night where it was joke after joke and a lot of magic.

Again it is a relatively early night - I am actually shocked at how early we have been going to bed.  We have been in bed every night by 11 pm which is a rarity for us, even at home.  But we have been enjoying watching movies and reading and just relaxing.

As I write this in the morning that we have docked in Boston, the Captain has just come on in the cabin and announced that all aboard is 5:30 am tomorrow.

So we get an overnight in Boston and those party people can stay out all night as long as they are back on board for 5:30.  They are calling for rain and gusts of 40 and 50 knots tonight so I glad he made the decision to stay safe.
