Drive to the Cabin - Can You Spot the Moose!

After breakfast Linette drove us up to their cabin on Lake Quesnel near Likely.

On the way there we saw a few things from our Bingo List.

We saw a moose!  Can you see it?

Yeah I bet you can't.  Because by the time I got my camera out I missed the actual shot of the moose but I have witnesses.  So we can cross that off our bingo card.  We also saw deer and a crane.

Linette and Al have a cabin on Quesnel lake near the town of Likely.

We stop in the town of Likely and the lake is really running high.

this area is know for the gold mines

ummm might be hard to stop at this stop sign

It is quite remote, and very very secluded. But so very peaceful.

The lake is quite high and their dock needs to be pulled up a bit.

This involves getting in the water.  It is freaking cold!  This lake is fed by snow capped mountains.

We end up spending a few hours on this exact dock. It is very hot (around 29) and we all got some sun.

Linette had to go in a bit deeper to get the chains to tighten up the dock.  Brave woman.

Their cabin!

We arrive back at the house and as we prepare for dinner, Linette makes Caesars and I pour a glass of wine.

Al arrives home from work and we are juts about to sit down to dinner.

Tomorrow we will be up early continuing our journey.

Here is our Bingo List today.

Here is the list

  • Moose
  • Deer
  • Hitchhiker
  • Eagle/Hawk
  • Licence plates from every Province in Canada - but you can not count the province you are in.  So if we see an Alberta plate in BC then it counts, but not if we are in Alberta.  British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Yukon, and North West Territory
  • Skunk
  • Sheep
  • Beaver
  • Goslings

  • Goat
  • Owl
  • Bear
  • Loon
  • Crane
  • Prairie Dog
  • Fisherman fishing
  • Hummingbird

  • Old VW Bug
  • Car broken down on the side of the road
  • Helicopter on the ground
  • Airplane on the ground
