Just a few days before I leave for my next contract. Am I ready?
Well, sort of.
It is such a big difference getting ready for a long contract, 2.5 months, compared to say sailing as a guest for a shorter period of time.
This contract is the Caribbean Princess starting in Quebec City. She does 10 day trips to New York and back. Also there is one trip to Greenland.
So although it will get cooler, it won't be cold like Antarctica was. So I am not bringing my cold weather stuff, but I am bringing layers. Long sleeve shirts, sweater, jacket and even a hat and gloves. But for the beginning of the trip it will be very warm, so some light blouses, summer dresses, t shirts and shorts.
One great thing is I will be in Halifax often and can send some no longer needed items home.
Today I assembled my binder. My binder of info. When I do desk hours I take my binder with me. I have every port under a tab and I then load each tab with info about that port. Maps, brochures, guides and whatever else I think could be helpful for guests to view.
Tomorrow is haircut day, bank, and last minute shopping.
I was surprised when I got my flight detail. They have me flying in the day before boarding. Great, and something I always recommend. But I live two provinces away. About an 11 hour drive away. And the ship overnights and doesn't sail till the next day. But I am flying in the day before I board. And I get in at 10 am!
Princess does provide a hotel for me. But since I am cruising with my sister as my guest on this first cruise, she has an airbnb for herself and her husband (who flies home the day we board, back to British Columbia). So I will bunk with them. So I told Princess I didn't need the room.
All my lectures were completed a while ago. I have been going over them and practicing and editing.
I have also gotten a head start on my lectures for my winter contract. I will finish them while working on the Caribbean Princess.
I will try and post regularly on my Cruising Princess Cruise Line Facebook page, so follow along.
Not sure how much blogging I will do, but of I have something to write I will.
So now I am enjoying the last few days on my new deck while I enjoy my garden.
See you Friday Caribbean Princess.
