And We Are Off

After a great breakfast with Shelley and Rob at Big Feast in Maple Ridge we are in the car and ready to go!

Bye Maple Ridge hello the rest of Canada!

The scenery is the so beautiful.

We are on the road at 9 am and we are on our way to 150 Mile House to see my sister Linette.
Here is the routing.

The distance is 482 km.

We stopped in Hope for gas and then Cache Creek for lunch.

The drive was great!  The weather amazing.  When we left it was around 24 and when we got up here it was 30 degrees!

Of course we had to stop for a coffee at Tim Hortons - Thanks Al for the coffee card!

As we drove we thought, hey remember those car bingo games we use to have for road trips when we were kids?  So we devised a list of things we hope to see and cross off our list.  Here is the list

  • Moose
  • Deer
  • Hitchhiker
  • Eagle/Hawk
  • Licence plates from every Province in Canada - but you can not count the province you are in.  So if we see an Alberta plate in BC then it counts, but not if we are in Alberta.  British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Yukon, and North West Terriorty
  • Skunk
  • Sheep
  • Beaver
  • Goslings
  • Buffalo
  • Goat
  • Owl
  • Bear
  • Prairie Dog
  • Fisherman fishing
  • Hummingbird
  • Antique car on the road
  • Old VW Bug
  • Car broken down on the side of the road
  • Helicopter on the ground
  • Airplane on the ground
  • Speeding ticket- hopefully not our own
  • Ambulance with sirens on
  • Dump truck
  • Line painting crew at work
  • Mail delivery person walking their route
By the end of the day we had crossed off hitchiker, and eagle/hawk

So Today's Stats are:  482 km
